Educators Rising
The Future Educators Club is now Educators Rising NWSISD.

Educators Rising is an organization that helps make sure teachers have the experience and skills they need to be ready for the classroom. Starting with high school students, we provide passionate young people with hands-on teaching experience, sustain their interest in the profession, and help them cultivate the skills they need to be successful educators. The result is a pipeline of accomplished teachers who are positioned to make a lasting difference — not only in the lives of their students, but also in the field of teaching more broadly.

Educators Rising is an evolution of the Future Educators Association (formerly Future Teachers of America).

Mission Statement

Educators Rising NWSISD works to promote interest in the field of education to high school students while incorporating racial integration, community involvement and hands on experience.

A global community learning and growing together… Our world is quickly becoming more diverse. Educators sensitive to the diversity in our classrooms are needed now and in the future.

Educators Rising NWSISD chapters encourage high school students to pursue post-secondary careers in education by introducing students to the teaching profession and allowing them to gain a realistic understanding of the nature of the education profession and the roles of educators in various areas of expertise.

Those career areas include, but are not limited to:
  • Teaching
  • Administration
  • Psychology
  • Nursing
  • Social Work
  • Counseling
  • Community Education
  • Mentoring
  • Student Programming and much more!
While participating in the Educators Rising NWSISD program, students meet with speakers, tutor younger students at elementary and middle schools within the eight collaborative districts, attend college tours that provide information regarding their education programs, plan and facilitate a community involvement project, participate in a one day job shadow experience and further their career skills by participating in a year-end leadership conference.

These experiences help to elevate the image of educators and promote education careers as a challenging and rewarding career. Working hand-in-hand with the Educators Rising program offers teachers, schools and communities a chance to mold their own future by helping to shape the future of the education profession. In doing so educators have the opportunity to examine, clarify, and explain their role in students’ lives.

Educators Rising chapters are run by individual schools; NWSISD coordinates the following activities between the clubs.
  • College visits that focus on education careers
  • Book Drive
  • Shadow Day
  • Student Leadership Conference
